McDonald Golf Club, Ellon
McDonald Golf Club, Ellon is set in the heart of Aberdeenshire countryside, 16 miles north of Aberdeen, this scenic eighteen hole golf course provides a memorable golfing experience for all standards of golfer.
The parkland course is named after its benefactor Sir James McDonald who, in 1926, gifted the old woodlands to the people of Ellon. The original nine hole course winds its way through this magnificent forest with its stately trees and beautiful rhododendron bushes. The well established first nine has a natural stream that twists and turns across the course and features on almost every hole.

Insch Golf Club
The picturesque village of Insch is only a 40-minute drive from Aberdeen up the A96 and has a station on the main Aberdeen-Inverness rail line.
Located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire, nestling between the distinctive peaks of Bennachie and Dunnydeer, Insch is a parkland course requiring accurate approach play and testing putts on large undulating greens. The Course at present measures 5,371 yards with a par of 69 (SSS 67) and has matured to provide a very good test for all classes of golfers.
Insch Golf Course will provide its own challenges and all visitors are assured of a warm welcome.
The modern clubhouse at Insch is probably the most friendly you will come across in the North-east. Built in 2003, a cosy bar, dining facilities and entertainment area upstairs, newly refurbished in March 2018. The large floor to ceiling windows provide an unrivalled panorama across the old course and up to Dunnydeer. The view at sunset is stunning

Oldmeldrum Golf Club
Oldmeldrum is an historic golf club: the game has been played here for over 130 years. However, its outlook is modern and, here, you will find all the facilities you would expect of a thriving, 21st century golfing venue.
For golfers, there are few more breathtaking sights – in summer or winter – than the distant, majestic, eastern flank of Bennachie, as you send a drive straight towards it from Oldmeldrum’s elevated 6th tee.
A par 70 course, Oldmeldrum Golf Club currently is just over 6,100 yards in length. It’s fairways, greens, areas of rough and water hazards are a challenge for every level of golfer.
Thursday 14th August
Kintore Golf Club
The spectacular course covers a large area of ground from the Don basin, overlooked by the clubhouse, to mature woodland at the far perimeter.
Although not as long as some courses – measuring 6126 yards from the medal tees –
the golfer cannot afford to be overconfident.
The course is a mixture of picturesque parkland, and holes lined by trees and criss-crossed by burns, producing interesting and tricky holes.
The golfer will enjoy spectacular views over the River Don, stretching to Bennachie and the Grampian hills to the north and south.
Friday 15th August
Alford Golf Club
Our welcoming clubhouse lies at the heart of the village and the golf course is cradled in the beautiful Howe of Alford. Easy-walking, level terrain takes the golfer through scenic, wooded and parkland surroundings with magnificent views of the neighbouring hills.
Most notably, the famous Bennachie Range provides a spectacular backdrop on many holes. "Don't be deceived by the relatively short yardage, Alford is a test for golfers of all abilities, with fine true greens with some subtle borrows. If you can par the short 16th surrounded by water and the demanding 18th with a testing tee shot and a mid to long iron for your second you should have a good score.
Mark Spence and his team have the course in superb condition and the greens are highly regarded by members and visitors alike. The trees and burns are attractive features although these are perhaps not always fully appreciated by the golfer who has hit a wayward shot!
